Ramakant Benjwal was born on 4th Oct 1962 in the village of Benji (Augustyamuni) Rudraprayag. He has done M.A., B.Lib.I.Sc. He has done extensive research about the Garhwali culture and on the pilgrimage of Nanda Devi. He has also written books about Garhwali language and the history of Garhwal Himalayas.
