About the Author:
Born on 15 February 1928, Shivraj Singh Rawat has served in the India army for 21 years and started writing from 1980. He is known for his books about Indian mythology and its relation with the state of Uttarakhand. Being from Gopeshwar himself he has seen the life of Himalayan folks from close quarters and depicted it brilliantly in his books. He has also been awarded the Umesh Dhobhal Samrii samman in 1997 for is contribution to the culture of Uttarakhand.
