It was the time when the people of the Tehri Garhwal region started revolting against the ruler Sunder Shah’s rule and also against the tyranny of the British rule.
People were sent to jails for small matters, speaking against the king and the British government was against the law which led to several of the youngsters of the region going to jail and also gave birth to the martyr Sridevi Suman ji who gave his life for the purpose of betterment of his people.

About the Author:
Born on 28th May 1908, Satya Prakash Raturi, has been an eminent personality in Uttarakhand and has taken active part in the freedom of the Tehri region from the tyranny of the British and the ruler of Tehri.
He worked as a teacher during his lifetime and has written a few books relating to the region where he was born and bought up.
